Please note:
Holi – the festival of colors lies on 10th March 2009 and is celebrated throughout the country.
Biska – is a major festival which takes place in medieval town of Bhaktapur on 13th & 14th April 2009 coinciding with the celebration of Nepali New year.
Buddhajayanti – is the festival celebrated in the honor of birthday of Sakyamuni Buddha on 9th May 2009.
Gaijatra – is a major festival on 7th August 2009 celebrated throughout the country indicating that life goes on.
Indra jatra – is a major festival on 3rd Sept 2009 dedicated to king of Gods Indra and kumari – the living goddess.
Dashain – is the most important festival of the hindus celebrated for 10 days throughout the nation. The festival is dedicatd to Durga – goddess of power.
Laxmi puja – is a major festival of lights on 18th Oct dedicated to goddess of wealth and prosperity - Laxmi
